While there is no denying that people mostly use YouTube for entertainment purposes, many also use it for information – especially when the need arises. For instance, an American woman turned to the video-sharing website when she found herself having to deal with something she never expected.

Tia Freeman, an Air Force computer specialist, was supposed to stay overnight in a hotel in Istanbul, Turkey before proceeding to Germany for a vacation. As she did not know that she was heavy with a child until her sixth month, she thought that she still had enough time to return home from her vacation before giving birth.

Tia Freeman never suspected that she would already give birth while on her way to a vacation destination.

During her flight to Istanbul, Freeman already started feeling stomach cramps. Nonetheless, she never suspected that it was already a telltale sign of the bigger things to come as she even thought that her stomach discomfort was all about the salmon she had eaten earlier.

Alone in her hotel room in Istanbul, Turkey where she was supposed to stay overnight only, she gave birth to a baby boy with the help of a YouTube video.

However, as soon as she set foot on Turkey’s soil, the cramps started getting worse that she almost passed out while lining at the customs. It was then that she realized she was not dealing with what she initially thought was food poisoning. Rather, she was already experiencing labor pains!

Freeman wrote on Twitter:

“I’m literally gripping the railing trying to make it through the line. At this point, I feel like I’m about to pass out.

“I’m sweating. I feel like I have to vomit. I’m going through it. Then I’m like wait a minute b—- are you in labor?”

After leaving the airport, Freeman went straight to her hotel and, there, she searched her phone for a YouTube video that guide her on giving birth. Thanks to the said tutorial video, Freeman was able to fill her hotel bathroom’s tub with warm water, grab a towel to bite down on, and another towel that she later used for wrapping the baby.

While Freeman wanted to travel back home with her baby the following day, Turkish airport officials told her that they can only do so after two weeks. T

Thankfully, she got help from total strangers, including the Turkish airline company, which shouldered her food and hotel stay and even gave her breastfeeding tips.

She revealed on Twitter:

“Luckily, it happened pretty quickly. I only had to push about 5-6x before a baby popped out. Lol now let me tell you babies are buoyant. That little joker said bloop and floated right on up to the top of the water.”

Freeman eventually named the baby Xavier, and the mother-and-son are now reunited with their family in Tennessee.
