Game Of Thrones Season 8 Trailer: Everything You Need To Know About The Final Season

The official trailer for Game of Thrones Season 8 is finally here and it looks like the final season is going to be the bloodiest one to date. Not surprisingly, there are new characters to meet at the Battle of Winterfell and some of our beloved characters could be in danger. Here’s a thorough breakdown of everything you might have missed in the teaser.

The Game of Thrones Season 8 trailer certainly confirmed that Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) are headed up North and that Cersei Lannister is still up to no good. We also have confirmation that at least three missing characters who were thought to be dea d in the previous season finale are still very much alive.

The first character we see is a bloodied and distressed Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) hiding from something in the dark. It is later revealed that she is running from someone (or something) in the darkened halls of Winterfell while clutching her dagger.

It is evident that Arya has been attacked because of an awful gash over her eye.

“I know Dea th,” Arya says as we see Davos Seaworth (Liam Cunningham) patrolling the castle. “He’s got many faces,” she reveals. At this point, we see Varys (Conleth Hill) hiding alongside the women and children of Winterfell.

Both scenes could take place during the Battle of Winterfell where both men are preparing for the fight.

It’s no surprise that Varys is choosing to hide while Davos is out there looking out for the people.

Arya continues running through the hallways but it appears that she is ready for anything. “I look forward to seeing this one,” Arya concludes. Her dialogue is revealed to take place before she gets injured.

Interestingly, Arya is holding a dragonglass weapon as she says the final line.

The next scene shows the ships of the Iron Fleet and their surprising passengers. Instead of Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbaek), we see a mysterious man looking down at an army clad in gold. This is the Golden Company, the sellswords that Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) had tasked Euron with transporting to Westeros.

Euron is back and probably still up to no good.

The man is undoubtedly Harry Strickland, the “puppet” leader of the Company who will be played by Marc Rissmann in the final season.

We finally get some good news. There is a brief glimpse at Edd Tollet (Ben Crompton), Beric Dondarrion (Richard Dormer), and Tormund Giantsbane (Kristofer Hivju) in a darkened hall. Fans were concerned about all three characters in the Season 7 finale after the Wall was taken down by the resurrected Viserion. Luckily, it looks like they could be on their way back to Castle Black or hopefully, even Winterfell.

The fight continues to Edd, Beric, and Tormund.

“Everything you did brought you where you are now,” Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) says to Samwell Tarly (John Bradley).

Bran is clearly addressing Sam in the scene.

But who arrived to disturb their conversation?

“Where you belong,” Bran continues as the scene switches to King’s Landing where Cersei is looking very pleased.

“Home,” Bran concludes as a little boy watches the Unsullied marching into Winterfell.

We get our first glimpse at Jon and Dany on horseback before Drogon and Rhaegal swoop in on Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner). There’s a gorgeous shot of the dragons flying over Winterfell, something that could happen several times throughout the season.

Make way for the power couple.

Sansa is clearly awestruck with the dragons.

Daenerys joins Jon in the crypts of Winterfell as he says, “They’re here. Our enemy doesn’t tire.”

Gendry (Joe Dempsie) is shown supervising what could be the forging of dragonglass weapons.

“Doesn’t stop,” Jon says as Jorah Mormont (Iain Glen) rides in on horseback.

Missandei (Nathalie Emmanuel) and Grey Worm (Jacob Anderson) share what might be a final kiss.

“Doesn’t feel,” Jon concludes just as Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) is featured in the heat of the battle.

Interestingly, the scene moves back to the Throne Room where Euron or Harry is standing in front of Cersei. It suddenly switches to a tearful Cersei drinking wine. The scene could mean many things, perhaps the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms has suffered a miscarriage, realized someone she loves is dea d, or that she has lost the battle. Either way, it’s a surprising look at Cersei once again.

Some believe that Euron is trying to blackmail Cersei in this scene.

Cersei’s expression is unreadable but she appears to have tears in her eyes.

The dragons are once again seen flying over the North as Arya watches them.

“I promised to fight for the living,” Jaime says as Grey Worm puts on his helmet.

Jon visits the Godswood in Winterfell.

Our only brief glimpse at The Hound (Rory McCann).

“I intend to keep that promise,” Jaime says to someone, possible Jon or Daenerys.

The battle is on! Jon is shown leading an attack followed by his men.

The dragons are back in what could be the most intriguing scene.

As Jon and Dany approach, it looks like Rhaegal is offering his neck to Jon.

There have been speculations that it could mean Jon will eventually ride the dragon named after his father Rhaegar Targaryen.

Arya joins the battle with what looks like a dragonglass spear.

Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) in his only scene in the trailer.

Brienne (Gwendoline Christie) and Podrick (Daniel Portman) prepare to fight.

The White Walker army finally arrives.
