Supermarket Worker Helps In Pushing Dairy Lorry Up A Hill, Gets A Year’s Supply of Milk For Free

Being able to help people for the sake of helping and not expecting a reward is a great thing. But if you do get rewarded for it, well, it’s even better. This supermarket worker was certainly delighted when she unexpectedly got a treat for being a good-hearted person.

Charlene Leslie was heading to the shops when she saw a Graham’s Milk lorry having trouble going up the snowy hill. The Storm Darcy was ongoing at that moment, making the roads difficult for vehicles.

She was with her two kids, 10-year-old Rihanna and 2-year-old Hunter, and the dog during that time. She sprung into action and decided to help the troubled lorry. She asked a neighbor to watch her children and rushed to the truck to assist.

“I would never just stand by when I see someone in trouble,” Charlene said. I suppose what I did was really dangerous, but thankfully the Graham’s truck got safely up the hill. At the moment I wasn’t really thinking about me, I just wanted to help.”

She said that a bunch of people were trying to push a car up the hill when she noticed the Graham’s lorry coming behind it. It was stuck in snow and the front wheels were spinning. When her neighbor appeared at the scene, she asked her to watch her kids and the dog so she can help the truck.

The truck eventually made it to the top of the hill, thanks to Charlene’s efforts. when Robert Graham, chairman of Graham’s Family Dairy, saw the video he decided to reward Charlene for her good deed.

“When I saw the video of Charlene pushing one of our artic lorries up a steep hill singlehandedly, I couldn’t believe it,” he said.

“As a heartfelt thank you, Charlene and her family will receive our milk and high protein dairy products free for the rest of the year.”

“Charlene’s intentions were incredibly kind. She not only made our family, farmers and colleagues smile, but clearly captured the hearts of thousands of people across the world who also watched her help others, without a thought for her own safety.”

Graham however advises other people not to follow Charlene’s action for health and safety reasons, which was understandable since she could have harmed herself when she helped the lorry.

Charlene was grateful for the recognition she received, something she did not expect at all.

“I simply believe that it is your duty to help others if they are in trouble.”

“It was lovely to meet Mr Graham as I’m a huge fan of the family farming brand and their products.”

“I really didn’t help out to receive anything in return, but I am absolutely delighted at their offer of free Graham’s dairy products for a year.”
