How grateful are you for all the blessings you've been given?
“Gratitude,” said William Arthur Ward “can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.”
Indeed, being grateful for what you have can be one of the secrets of achieving contentment, peace, and lasting happiness. Without it, life can be heavy, meaningless, and dull.
Perhaps one of the best examples of living a lifestyle filled with this virtue is Uruguay president Jose Mujica. He is considered by many as the “world’s poorest president” but he actually detests the title.
President Jose Mujica once said:
“I’m called ‘the poorest president,’ but I don’t feel poor. Poor people are those who only work to try to keep an expensive lifestyle and always want more.”
As Indian actor Rajinikanth once taught:
“Whether you have a Maruti or a BMW, the road remains the same. Whether you travel economy class or business, your destination doesn’t change. Whether you have a Titan or a Rolex, the time is the same. Whether you have Apple, Samsung, or Lava, people who call you remains the same.
There is nothing wrong in dreaming a luxurious life. What needs to be taken care of is to not let the need become the greed. Because needs can always be met… but greed can never be fulfilled.”
