Shots have been fired! Both countries shared videos of their attacks against each other.
As conflict increases between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the two countries have recently posted videos of their “victories” over each other. The said clips showed the opposing sides’ attacks and so observers are worried that a full blown war may be inevitable.
According to reports, Azerbaijan’s current military operations in the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh Republic is a “counter offensive” against Armenian soldiers. However, Armenian authorities are denying that, claiming Azerbaijan was the first to break the ceasefire.
The video description read:
“The enemy is fleeing the battlefield leaving combat vehicles behind… As a result of the counter-attack operation of the Azerbaijan Army units, enemy troops retreated and left a large number of armored vehicles on the battlefield. This video shows destroyed and abandoned Armenian combat vehicles.”
On the other hand, Armenia shared a video of their forces attacking “a pair of infantry vehicles” and “ambushing a military convoy,” reported RT.
According to the Armenian Foreign Affairs Ministry, Azerbaijan is getting “large-scale military-political support from Turkey” such as weapons and drones.
Meanwhile, NPR wrote that President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan has told his security council:
“The settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue is our historical mission. We must resolve this so that historical justice can be restored. We must do so to restore the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.”
