Keep this away from your cat. She'll mistake it for the real thing!
You know what makes technology really fun and exciting? You’ll never know what’s coming next. Case in point, this new bird-shaped drone aptly called the Bionic Bird.
As you will see in the video below, this badass bird looks and flies like the real thing. The official website tells us that the Bionic Bird “is packed with micro-technologies weighing less than 10 grams” and that it “imitates the soaring of an eagle as well as the rapid flapping flight of a swallow.”
So how does this tech fly? Well, that’s where your smartphone can come handy. You can utilize your mobile device to control Bionic Bird’s speed through The Flying App which is downloadable both via the App Store and Google Play.
Depending on its mode setting, you can fly this toy indoors and outdoors. It can reach up to a 100-meter range and can deliver a speed of up to 20 km/h. It flies silently and so it doesn’t make any strange noises like regular drones do so people – and even other animals – are fooled into believing that it’s a real bird.
According to the makers, the Bionic Bird “flies for up to 8 minutes. The more Bionic Bird glides, the longer it stays in the sky.” It also comes with a special portable egg which you can use to recharge it once it runs out of juice.
So awesome, right? This really looks like a cool plaything to bring to the park or the beach I really might consider picking up one soon.
If you want to know more about the tech’s specs, go head over to the official MyBionicBird website or its IndieGoGo page.
