Before Turning 2 Years Old, Bodhi Bennett Hikes More than 483 Km With His Parents
Being able to recognize names of familiar people, follow simple instructions, and say two-to-four-word sentences are among the developmental milestones of a typical, growing two-year-old kid. However, a toddler named Bodhi Bennett achieved something most adults haven’t done yet in their lives.
Believe it or not, Bodhi has hiked more than 483 kilometers before his second birthday.
The backpacking toddler had conquered the most spectacular mountains in the US along with Blake, his father, and pregnant mother Shannon. In fact, the young boy experienced his first outdoor adventure when he was just five days old. That’s pretty adventurous for a newborn, right?
The tot from Mammoth Lakes in California had been in 40 different US states and had seen Yosemite National Park, Thousand Island Lake, and majority of national parks in the country.
Shannon, who had years of experience as a backpacker and hiker decided to document her son’s hikes on Instagram. Instead of giving up their lifestyle, the couple decided to include Bodhi in their climbs.
“When I was pregnant with Bodhi it was important to my husband and I that our lives didn’t change because we were going to become parents. We had heard so many times that children change your life completely and you can no longer do those fun things you did when you were younger. But Bodhi climbs everything and really enjoys mimicking what we do,” she told The Daily Mail UK.
Although most of their hikes seem quite dangerous for Bodhi, Shannon said that she follows all safety precautions for the safety of her son.

His parents Blake and Shannon make sure Bodhi is always safe during their trips.
The family also loves bringing their dog Marley as they travel.
The little boy wears appropriate clothing, depending on their destination and the weather.
When he’s not walking, his Dad or Mom carries him on their back.
