Awesome Artist Gives Disney Characters A Creepy, Tim Burton Vibe
When it comes to Tim Burton’s work, it’s hard to miss out on his signature. The critically-acclaimed director is best known for his unique, gothic films and animation, which blends horror and fantasy perfectly. No wonder a lot of people are fascinated by his talent.
For artist Andrew Tarusov, the best way to showcase just how much he loves Burton’s style is through showing it in his own art. The Los-Angeles based artist gives a dark and creepy feel to the Disney films we all love. From “Beauty and the Beast” to “The Little Mermaid,” Tarusov has brought gothic, Tim-Burton-style art into these fairy tale characters and giving you idea what it would be like if Tim Burton would direct a Disney film. Check out his drawings below.
Is Bambi adorable or just plain creepy?
Ariel and her friends get a makeover.
Aladdin with a mustache?
The Beast reminds me of Cousin It from “The Addams Family.”
Tarusov admits he’s a fan of Tim Burton. He told Buzzfeed:
“I love Tim Burton’s style — how it looks vintage, stylish, and cute. Everything is made as a horror movie, but at the same time it’s not horror. It could be any genre.”
You got to admit, this is good stuff.
Aurora and Prince Phillip given a dark twist.
This has got to be the creepiest of all Disney characters.
Very “Nightmare Before Christmas-ish.”
The 101 Dalmatians… at least the five of them.
When you visit Tarusov’s portfolio here, you can see more of his drawings and how he’s truly a fan of Disney. He also has drawings of Disney-princesses-turned-pinup-girls.
