Trump is set to make his social media comeback - via his own platform!
Former United States President Donald Trump will soon be launching his own social media platform, according to his spokesperson. Jason Miller, who has been Trump’s campaign adviser for 2016 and 2020, has told the media that the former president will be “returning to social media in probably about two or three months.”
“The president’s been off of social media for a while,” he said, “but his press releases, his statements have actually been getting almost more play than he ever did on Twitter before.”
He added:
“This is something that I think will be the hottest ticket in social media. It’s going to completely redefine the game, and everybody is going to be waiting and watching to see what President Trump does, but it will be his own platform.”
“This new platform is going to be big. Everyone wants him and he’s going to bring millions and millions — tens of millions — to this platform,” declared the adviser.
It can be remembered that Trump has been permanently banned from using Twitter (and even Facebook), following accusations of inciting the US Capitol riots back in January 6.
Ned Segal, chief financial officer of Twitter, said that Trump’s suspension on the platform is permanent – even if he decideds to run for office again.
“The way our policies work, when you’re removed from the platform, you’re removed from the platform,” Segal pointed out. “Whether you’re a commentator, you’re a CFO, or you are a former or current public official. Remember, our policies are designed to make sure that people are not inciting violence, and if anybody does that, we have to remove them from the service and our policies don’t allow people to come back.”
