Awesome Tree House Has A Bicycle-Powered Elevator
You may have a cool tree house but we doubt it’s anything cooler than this one. Master builder Ethan Schlussler has a very unique tree house, compared with anything we’ve ever seen.
What makes it different from usual tree houses, you ask? Well this one actually has an elevator – and it’s powered by a bicycle!
Ethan Schlussler of Sandport, Idaho has gotten “really tired” of climbing up ladders so he thought he’d do something about it.
Eventually, he came up with the idea of building an elevator bike and completed the said project with a bit of help from a friend.
Now going up the 30-feet high tree house has become really hassle-free…
… and definitely much faster, too.
As you will see on the video below, Schlussler manages to go up and down his tree home with no difficulty at all.
He used a bike, some steel cables, and a few old scraps.
In a Bored Panda feature, Shclussler has earlier shared:
“It was originally a 20-something speed bicycle, but first gear wasn’t slow enough, so I cut the large sprocket off the front, and welded it on the rear to get a lower gear. I also had to do away with the de-railers and make a new chain tensioner.”
He has since made several upgrades as needed to ensure that the elevator works properly.
Going down is even way easier!

The tree house and bike elevator has gotten a lot of attention on social media.
Understandably, netizens couldn’t help but be very amazed with Schlussler’s one-of-a-kind invention.
