If it still works, there's no problem, right? Actually, that's the problem...
Whether we like to put on a full face of makeup on the daily or we’re fine with just a dab of sunscreen and lip balm, we all use some form of beauty or health product. If it goes on your face or your body (like makeup, lotion, or perfume) or even if it washes off (shampoo, body wash, or face washes), it’s a beauty product.
Most of us who prefer the more expensive beauty products would be hard-pressed to let them go. So some of us still have products from years and years and years ago. I mean, if they still work okay, there’s no need to throw them out, right?
In reality, beauty products also have an expiration date. When this expiration date has passed, the product may no longer be as effective, and worse, they might cause infections.
So how can you find out if your beauty product is expired? All you need to do is have a look at this little symbol.
Some products take more than a year to expire, such as most hair products. But there are other products that will expire within 3 months, like mascara. And believe me, you don’t want to be sporting an eye infection with your latest makeup look.
Naturally, you might be wondering how you can possibly keep track of all the products’ expiration date. Well, one trick would be to write the date of expiry on the tube so you know when it’s about to run out. That way, you can get the most out of your product without wasting the rest.
Remember, one of the most effective ways to stay fresh and beautiful is to make sure your skin is free from anything dirty or harmful – and that includes expired beauty products!
