How much are you willing to sacrifice for a friend?
How much are you willing to sacrifice for a friend?
Many would readily say they are willing to offer their lives for a friend but when faced with a real situation, can they still follow through on that promise?
For first-graders Vincent Butterfield and Zac Gossage, it was not a huge matter as giving one’s life for a friend yet it touched the hearts of millions of people.
You see, Vincent was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, cancer of the white blood cells. Because of his condition, Vincent had to miss school; though the brave young boy would always attend his classes if he feels alright.
His bestfriend Zac realized something was wrong. After learning more about Vincent’s condition, Zac and his mom created a fundraiser which earned them $200 by selling handmade scarves. The young boy wanted to contribute something to his friend’s treatment which he learned was quite expensive.
When Vincent began losing his hair, he felt rather ashamed to go to school but Zac decided to shave his head, too, so his bestfriend won’t feel he is the only one with no hair. What a sweet little boy. He will surely grow up to be a very compassionate man.
