Francois Dourlen, a history teacher and a photography enthusiast, has found a way to incorporate iconic characters and scenes into real life situations. He takes inspiration from cartoons, comic books, movies, TV, video games, and pretty much anything else that pops up his head, turning ordinary scenarios into funny ones. He then shares the hilarious images to the world via his Instagram account.
What does he use to create his masterpieces? Well, just his trusty iPhone and a whole lot of imagination. They’re very fun to look at and if you grew up loving all these characters, then you’ll probably have a good laugh as well.

As with all things popular on the internet, Dourlen also gets his share of haters with a few bashers saying his work couldn’t be considered “art” and that he’s “just a guy with an iPhone.”
His fans, however, are quick to defend him and his craft.
Casey Dulcetpine, one of his Instagram followers, commented:
“Actually it is art because not many people think of that and also it takes skill to match the picture up with real life like that. It’s the way the way he looks at the world that makes him an artist more than anything.”
Dourlen, on the other hand, said he’s just enjoying what he’s doing.
“I continue to take these photos as it amuses me,” he said. “I take pictures everywhere I go because I always have my phone and my camera with me. So, I’m inspired by everything, when I’m home, at work, in the streets. It’s like a game for me, it amuses me. I just want to have fun! Like many people, I always imagine weird things when I walk in the street, when I work or when I’m home.”
