‘Game Of Thrones’ Fans Are Greatly Concerned About The Winterfell Crypts For An Obvious Reason
The latest episode of Game of Thrones confirmed a lot of things: Tormund Giantsbane earned his name in the weirdest way possible, Brienne of Tarth is officially a knight, and the women and children will hide in the crypts for safekeeping. While fans have no problem with the first two, it’s the third fact that has people concerned about what will happen in Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 3.
In the second episode of Game of Thrones Season 8, several characters repeatedly insisted that the safest place in Winterfell is the crypts. Ser Davos Seaworth said it to a little girl and Gilly quickly backed him up. Jon Snow told Bran Stark he would be safe in the crypts but Bran insisted on staying outdoors. Even Samwell Tarly stated that Gilly and Little Sam would be “safe down in the crypts.” But are they?
‘Game of Thrones’ fans have a lot of things to say about the crypts.
If there’s one thing that viewers already know about Game of Thrones, most plans don’t work out the way they should. Also, fans are aware that the Night King is pretty capable of raising the dead into wights.
In the Season 5 episode Hardhome, the Night King displayed his power in front of Jon Snow. After his army massacred the wildlings living in Hardhome, the villain immediately resurrected the dead, effectively doubling his army’s numbers. Needless to say, people are already worried that the Night King will do the same thing in the upcoming episode.
The iconic standoff between the Night King and Jon Snow ended with a shocker.
The Winterfell crypts are filled with several corpses, most of which are members of the Stark family. We know that Ned Stark is in there along with Jon’s real mother Lyanna Stark and many others. In fact, there may be hundreds of dead people in there.
It’s still unclear whether the Night King will be resurrecting the bodies in the crypts but if he does, there is little doubt that it’s not exactly the safest place in Winterfell next week. Now we know why Daenerys Targaryen said, “The dead are already here,” in the episode’s teaser.
Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 3 will air on HBO on April 28.
