The final episode of 'Game of Thrones' could reveal Daenerys Targaryen's fate.
The fifth episode of Game of Thrones Season 8 was truly bonkers as Daenerys Targaryen decided to burn down King’s Landing after realizing that the only way to rule over Westeros was through fear. But is it possible that The Bells also revealed the consequences of Dany’s actions? Some believe that the sack of the capital has made Arya Stark decide to add the Mother of Dragons to her list.
In Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 5, Arya arrived in King’s Landing along with The Hound and both immediately headed for the Red Keep to fulfill their own missions: Arya wanted to kill Cersei Lannister while Sandor Clegane was preparing to fight his brother The Mountain. Unfortunately, Arya’s plan was stopped by The Hound when he realized that the castle was falling apart. He then ordered Arya to leave the city while she can as he continued on to find Ser Gregor Clegane.
Although she managed to leave the Red Keep unharmed, Arya still had trouble leaving the city as Dany and Drogon wrecked havoc all over King’s Landing. The residents of the capital were panicking as Dany’s men attacked amidst the chaos.
Once again, Arya was faced with the possibility of death but the youngest Stark daughter refused to give up so easily. She tried to save a mother and her daughter but they were both burned by Drogon’s fire. In the end, it looked like Arya and a lone white horse (which originally belonged to Harry Strickland, leader of the Golden Company) were the sole survivors of the destruction of King’s Landing.
There may be a good reason why Arya was forced to endure the horrors of Dany’s rampage in the capital. Some believe that although she was unable to fulfill her plan to kill Cersei, her eye-opening experience during the sack of King’s Landing may have led to Arya adding a different name to her list: Daenerys Targaryen.
It’s no secret that the Starks are not fond of Daenerys and after what happened in the city, Arya might believe that the Mother of Dragons does not deserve to take the Iron Throne. This is somehow suggested in the teaser for the Game of Thrones Season 8 finale where Arya is shown watching someone from behind the ranks of the Unsullied. Is she looking at Dany and planning how to kill the so-called Mad Queen?
The final episode of Game of Thrones will air on HBO on May 19.
