There is more than meets the eye on Instagram.
Whether you admit it or not, your photos on Instagram don’t exactly reflect what REALLY happens in your life. Sometimes, we need to crop and filter things out to show others how perfect our lives are. Indeed, Instagram has become an avenue for people to create an entirely different identity for themselves.
This is what Bangkok-based photographer Chompoo Baritone tried to show in an intriguing photo series which reveals the truth behind unrealistic images on Instagram.
Baritone, who studied photography in King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang in Thailand, superimposed Instagram photos on top of another scene to show photos which Instagram users don’t want to reveal. Through careful cropping and editing of colours and angles, users can easily stretch the truth in photos.
Baritone’s brilliant satirical series challenges the way we present our lives online.
