An eye-opener indeed.
“Beware the barrenness of a busy life”.
-Socrates
Having goals in life is never a bad thing, especially now that we live in such a fast-paced and results-oriented world where much is expected of us. However, at some point of your existence, have you ever felt that you were just going through the motions of life just to reach the finish line?
Oftentimes, we look forward to the future too much that we tend to lose sight of the present. Be it looking forward to earning a college degree to landing that dream job, we tend to fast-forward the present in order to reach the next milestone. However, the downside to this kind of mindset is that we tend to forget how to live in the present – so much so that we overlook the beauty surrounding us. By the time we notice it, it’s already too late to rectify our mistakes.
This series of photos circulating online is a perfect eye-opener for all of us. Instead of dying to achieve a goal, we must also learn to live and savor the wonderful moments in our life. As an old adage once said, while walking through the road called life, it is also important to stop and take the time to admire the flowers and the view along the way.
