Fishermen Wakes Sleeping Anaconda And Gets What They Deserve

“Let sleeping dogs lie”—this is an idiomatic expression which means that we should leave someone or something alone or else, we might get in trouble.

These fishermen from Brazil should have thought about that when they did something as ludicrous as this.

These men decided it would be fun to poke and wake a sleeping anaconda in the Santa Maria river, and they have incriminated themselves by filming the incident too.

They first saw the reptile in an overhang. One of the fishermen kept on poking it with a wooden oar until the distressed anaconda emerges and tries to escape. They saw that the snake’s midsection was huge and it probably just fed.

But these men hadn’t had enough of their fun. As the snake tried to swim away from the foolish men, one of them grabbed the anaconda’s tail from their boat and hauled it back in the middle of the river.

I would have asked these men to leave the snake alone. Aside from the fact that it was dangerous, they were lucky that the enormous snake can’t take another meal that time.

Although they eventually let the huge reptile go, the Brazilian Environmental Authorities did not let the incident pass. The men were asked to pay a fine for what they did to the anaconda.
