Faith in humanity restored.
Tanzania is known as one of the African countries the “big five” game animals call home. The vast wilderness is home to elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, and rhinos, and this thriving tourism industry contributes to the country’s economy.
However, the country’s rich biodiversity is not limited to these popular game animals; the country’s plethora of national parks and protected areas is home to other animals too, including the great white pelican.
In 2013, Jeffrey Condon, tourist center manager in the area of Lake Tanganyika, came across an injured pelican. The water bird was just a few months old and was injured and probably separated from its flock due to a violent storm that passed through the area. Condon took the pelican in and taught it how to fish.
Watch the heartwarming video below of how Condon helped the pelican fly and fish on its own:
Faith in humanity restored. We need more Jeffrey Condons in the world!
