Man Spends 273 Hours Bringing Lawn Back To Life Using Antique Mower

A lot of people wouldn’t know what to do with a de ad lawn. Some might just give up on it and hire a professional to decide how to fix it. Luckily for Keith Smith, who had a de ad lawn dilemma, he is the professional.

Keith enjoys maintaining lawns. He’s a groundskeeper at the Edgbaston Golf Club, after all, where he keeps the grass trimmed and healthy. After completing his duty at the course, he uses hid time to fix his own back garden.

He said:

“Mowing my lawn is my passion … I like keeping myself to myself, I don’t drink or smoke, and my wife and kids are my world, but this keeps me fit and healthy.”

Keith shared that his wife and kids knew how much time, dedication, and hard work he put into this project, so they didn’t go on the lawn, fearing that they might trample his creation.

Each spring, Keith spends hours working on his home project. He then took to Twitter to share his work, posting some amazing before and after ppictures of his lawn. With the help of his trusty 1940s mower, Keith was able to transform his de ad lawn to a masterpiece.

He used chalk to outline the pattern first, then skillfully cut the grass into a complicated pattern.

He explained:

“I mowed the lawn two or three times a day from the beginning of June to the first week of August … This new geometric design was a pattern I found on the internet. I was struggling for a design this year, and came across this one and thought I’d give it a go.”

Keith proved that hard work pays off after winning the Creative Lawn Stripes Competition for the third year in a row with this geometric design in his back lawn.
