Man Wears Tutu In Series Of Photos To Cheer Up His Wife During Treatment

“For better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, till death do us part,” — we’ve all heard of this line before. People may have gotten used to this traditional wedding vows that they don’t really appreciate its importance until they face troubles in their relationship.

Bob Carey took his vows to heart especially when his wife needed it the most. After the photographer found out about his better half Linda’s diagnosis, he decided to do everything in his power to make her smile.

Bob is reminding everyone that there’s nothing that a husband won’t do to make his wife happy. So when Linda was diagnosed with breast cancer, he knew he had to do something to relieve some of her stress.

To make Linda smile, Bob started taking photos of himself wearing a pink tutu everywhere he went. The photos quickly a lot of love from people, some are cancer patients themselves, as the images showed them love and positivity.

Bob said:

“When Linda would go in for treatment, she would take the images on her phone, and the women would look at them, and it would make them laugh and make the time pass.”

The photos helped raise cancer awareness to empower those who are battling the life-threatening illness.

Since his idea was such a huge success, Bob had a light bulb moment and started “The Tutu Project.” So what is The Tutu Project? It is a fundraiser aimed at bringing in $50,000 annually to help patients pay for treatment options.

The website notes:

“Our non-profit provides funding for expenses not covered by insurance for breast cancer patients.”

Bob has also published a book and a calendar of his own tutu images. All sales go directly to The Carey Foundation, an organization that financially supports breast cancer patients and their family.

The Tutu Project has a lot of humor in it. However, the sad truth is that life is too short, so take a moment and make someone smile today.
