"I cannot wait to see them wreaking havoc in the Marvel Universe." said artist David Finch.
In a surprise news that has since rocked the world of pop culture fans, Marvel Entertainment has announced that they have acquired the rights to iconic sci-fi franchises Alien, Predator, and Alien Vs. Predator.
According to the official announcement posted on the company’s website, Marvel Comics will be “launching all-new stories… featuring new and classic characters” beginning 2021. Moreover, Marvel has also released two artworks illustrated by artist David Finch to serve as a teaser, giving us a vibe of how the upcoming series will look like.
Marvel Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski enthused:
“There’s nothing more thrilling than a story that will keep you at the edge of your seat, and Alien and Predator have delivered that time and time again!”
Editor Jake Thomas described it as “a thrill and an honor” for them to be able to tell brand new stories about the sci-fi icons.

Meanwhile, artist David Finch reflected how he has loved the franchises since he was a young boy.
“I’ve seen every movie they’ve ever been in, and I cannot wait to see them wreaking havoc in the Marvel Universe. I drew my pictures of them with a massive smile on my face,” he confessed.
Before the acquisition, Dark Horse Comics has been the home to Alien and Predator comics stories for the past 30 years. Disney, which owns Marvel, has since bought 20th Century Fox, which owns the two sci-fi franchises, back in March 2019.
