Mom Responds After Receiving Nasty ‘Post-Pregnancy Body’ Comments From Trainer

After the horrible experience, she post a photo of her on Facebook wearing nothing but her nursing bra and undies. Talk about a brave woman!

Every woman who had just given birth will look in front of the mirror and see lots of stretchmarks, saggy belly and overall unattractive look. It is part of being a mother and while it may seem disgusting for some, mothers look at all her physical changes as signs of being a full-pledged woman.

Take Mel for example. She had just given birth and wanted to go back to the gym to restore her endurance and strengthen her core. What may seem like a glorious day for her turned out to be a disaster as she experienced a horrifying encounter with her personal trainer.

In her Facebook page, she posted this:

“So I had my first session with a PT today and the first thing she said to me was ‘Obviously you want to get back to your pre-baby weight.’ It wasn’t a question, it was a statement.

And it pissed. Me. Off.”

She also posted a photo of her wearing nothing but a nursing bra and underwear.

“I corrected her nicely by simply saying ‘my goal is to regain my core strength and endurance…I’m not worried by how my body looks, only how it functions…it can be pretty badass.’

Mel walked away from that judgmental trainer, fuming in anger, annoyance and disappointment.

The encounter also made Mel think about how society perceive an appropriate post-pregnancy body.

The photo went viral and she was surprised to see people from all over the world show support to her and in women in general.

Mel further opened up by saying that people will always put pressure on other people’s lives. Skinny people are condemned for their lack of fat and starvation habits. Voluptuous women are called fat and are also attacked.

For Mel, people should start thinking about how people are, not how they look.

“So here I am. I may not be magazine ready, my nana undies and bedtime nursing bra are certainly not going to be rocking a runway anytime soon, my hair is greasy, I have no makeup on, my body is squishy and plentiful, I’m not even sure I’m totally ok. But I am strong. My body is healthy. Screw what society wants from me. This is what’s on offer.”
