All because he thinks face masks are "uncomfortable."
Just last August 25, Michael Richards recently rode an EasyJet aircraft with his family as they were headed to Tenerife, Spain for a vacation.
In a Facebook post, he later bragged about how he was able to avoid wearing a face mask for most of the trip. According to him, he ate Pringles the entire time so he wouldn’t have to wear an “uncomfortable” mask.
Michael shared:
“When you’re spending four hours on a plane you think of stuff, and I thought the only way you don’t have to wear a mask on a plane is if you’re eating or drinking.
“So I thought I’d take my time eating these Pringles to see how long they’d last, and I kept nibbling away…”
The 41-year-old man from UK further went on that he ate only a single Pringle for about 2 1/2 minute each so he can remain mask-free during the travel.
As a result, he only had to wear his mask “for about 10 minutes… when I had to get up to use the toilet and to get my suitcase down.”
Naturally, the post gained mixed reactions with some netizens thanking Michael for the “lifehack” while others started bashing him for being irresponsible. Despite that, the former X-Factor star just shrugged off all the criticisms, reported LadBible.
A representative from EasyJet later commented about the controversial issue, pointing out:
“Passengers receive clear communications before they travel and via announcements onboard to ensure they are aware that, in line with new guidelines, they are required to wear a face mask onboard except when eating or drinking.
“Whilst our cabin crew will always try to be vigilant to ensure that passengers comply with the requirement to wear a mask, no issues were raised with the crew about this passenger’s behaviour during the flight.
“It is the responsibility of all onboard to adhere to these measures for the health and safety of everyone onboard.”
