This photographer decided to do something fun during his spare time - make mini Lego adventures and take photos of them!
How do you spend your free time? Do you love doing something productive such as hitting the gym or maybe cleaning up your room? Or do you prefer idling away, just catching up on movies and TV shows you’ve missed?
Well, this French photographer decided he’d do something fun during his spare time, so he started taking pictures of mini adventures starring tiny Lego figures.
Sofiane Samlal (or Samsofy to his thousands of followers on social media) is a 34-year-old who thought it would be awesome to combine his craft (photography) and a little fun (Lego toys) – that’s why he came up with this cute project.
When he was starting out in the industry, he mainly focused on extreme sports photography. Of course, he was also quick to admit that geek culture is also a big influence in his work and that eventually pushed him towards photographing toys in creative and funny scenarios. Well, mostly that and the fact that when his son was born, he had to stop working to take care of the baby. This is when the idea of making miniature Lego adventures began to hit him.
According to Samsofy:
“I combine the techniques of photography, street art, model making and installation to deliver a message, which often mixes politics, humor and poetry.”
He added:
“In my microcosmos I like to play with scales and matter in order to alter perception. I try to take pictures that mixes the extremely big and the microscopic to help the naked eye discover what one can’t see usually.”
