The perfect getaway home capable of withstanding a nuclear hit.
People are crazed with apocalypse-themed plots nowadays. Numerous books, computer games, movies, and TV shows revolve around the chilling end-of-the-world scenario.
Fans witness what those characters do in order to survive. We’ve seen how they all turned into vagabonds in search for a safe and sustainable place where they can build fences and try to start over. They left the comfort of their own homes, because even ‘home’ is not safe. Well, someone didn’t want to risk their lives out there so they built a massive shelter of approximately 2,300 square feet underneath their house that can withstand nuclear attacks, pandemics, EMPs, and any other apocalypse!
Located at the Adirondack State Park in New York, this awesome refuge called the Atlas-F Silo Luxury Home With Runway was once a missile arsenal during the cold-war.
The launch control center has now been transformed into an ultimate apocalypse shelter with two-bedroom suites, marble bathrooms, and dining and entertainment spaces. The ceilings are at least ten feet high and the lighting fixtures simulate daylight. The basement level is sound-proofed and it even has its own air supply. A tunnel connects the house to the 9-story missile silo, which is now currently empty.
A 2,000 square feet cabin lies above the silo, and if you think the time has finally come, you can escape via keypad entry to the basement house. This place also has its own plane hangar and private runway.
