Mom Breaks Down In Tears After Seeing Deceased Daughter in Virtual Reality

“Mom, where have you been? I miss you a lot, mom.”

South Korean broadcaster MBC released a documentary called ‘Meeting You.’
The said show featured Jang Ji-Sung, a mom of 4 who lost her 7-year-old daughter to haemochromatosis in 2017.
The two reunited through the use of virtual reality technology.
The heartwarming video went viral on social media.

In a documentary produced by a South Korean network, a grieving mother had the chance to be reunited with her young daughter who passed away last 2017. The brief reunion became possible through the use of virtual reality and it totally left everyone in tears.

Jang Ji-Sung lost her 7-year-old child Nayeon to haemochromatosis, a rare disorder that causes the body to absorb too much iron. In MBC’s Meeting You, the sad mom finally had the opportunity to see and be with her daughter once again, through the use of virtual reality.

Jang Ji-Sung was in tears as she saw her daughter again via virtual reality technology.

According to the show’s producers, they spent eight months to make everything happen. In preparation, they worked with a child actor as a model for Nayeon’s virtual version and utilized motion capture technology. They even managed to reproduce the deceased girl’s voice. On top of that, they also recreated the park that Jang and Nayeon often visited.

Nayeon died in 2017 after getting ill of haemochromatosis.

During their virtual reunion, Nayeon approached Jang and asked:

“Mom, where have you been? Did you think of me? I miss you a lot, mom.”

Together, the pair spent time together at the park and even had a simple birthday celebration.

At the end of the video, the kid can be seen lying in bed to sleep and then bidding her mom farewell before she magically transformed into a butterfly to fly away.
