Tucked in strategic corners of the planet are the cooles bridges and arches. They are formed due to natural geological activities such as erosions, earthquakes, and many more.

#1. The Durdle Door in England

This natural limestone arch is part of the Lulworth Estate, which is owned by Welds family. It is located on the Jurassic Coast in Dorset, England and is open to the general public.

#2. The Rainbow Bridge National Monument in the USA

It is hailed as the highest natural bridge in the world. This towering structure is preserved by the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area of Southern Utah, USA. It has a span of 234 feet (71 meters) while the top has a width of 33 feet (10 meters) and 42 feet (13 meters) of thickness.

#3. The Sipapu Bridge in the USA

This natural arch spans the White Canyon. It can be found in the Natural Bridges National Monument of Utah. With a span of 225 feet, Sipapu Bridge ranks second in the list of world’s longest natural bridges and the 7th longest natural arch.

#4. The El Arco in Mexico

Sea lions gather in this famous rock formation at the southern end of Baja California Peninsula. Its original name is El Arco de Cabo San Lucas which means “Lands End”. It is made of high-granite rock which measures 200 feet (61 meters).

#5. The Kentucky Natural Bridge in the USA

This natural sandstone arch is the focal point of the Natural Bridge State Park, which is located in the Middle Fork of Red River. Its span is about 78 feet (24 meters) with a height of 65 feet (20 meters).

#6. The Xian Ren Qiao in China

Considered as the world’s largest natural bridge, Xian Ren Qiao has a span of 295 feet (90 meters) while its opening has a height of 210 feet (64 meters). It is also called the “Fairy Bridge”.

Located two hundred yards from the Vratna Monastery is the famous Velika Prerast.

It can be found along the cliffs near the Vratna River in the town of Negotin, Serbia. Its span is 92 feet with a height of 100 feet.

A geological formation in the mountainous limestone terrain of Rockbridge County, Virginia, the Natural Bridge was a sacred site for Native American Monacan tribe. The horizontal limestone strata of the arch has a span of 90 feet (27 meters) and a height of 215 feet (66 meters).

Not only one but several bridges form Bulgaria’s Bridges of Wonder. This spectacular rock formation was the result of an erosion of the high-water river, creating a deep water cave from the marble clefts. An earthquake caused the collapse of the ceiling and the water swept away the debris.

Lying in the region of Bohemian Switzerland is a magnificent rock formation with a vault of 26.50 meters, a height of 21 meters, and a width of 7-8 meters.

#11. The Pont d’ Arch in France

One of the most popular sites for kayaking and canoeing is the splendid Pont d’ Arch in the Ardeche River. It measures 45 meters high and 60 meters wide.
