There’s a vacation in Hawaii. And then there’s a vacation in Hawaii with the greatest experience of having a whale jump right in front of you. Talk about going on the best vacation ever. These two lucky paddle boarders had the greatest magical experience of having an orca follow them around and well, breach on their peaceful break.

The paddle boarders, a guy and a girl, were off the west coast of Maui when the orca, or humpback whale, decided to breach and make an appearance right in front of them. The said area is very famous for the presence of whales and whale sightings by tourists. This event happens a lot during the winter months. There are more than 10,000 whales that spend their winters at the areas of Maui, Lana’i, Kaho’olawe and Molokai. They reside in these areas for mating and calving season.

Thank you Mother Nature for this natural occurrence because it means that these beautiful creatures can easily be closer to humans especially when they are in the water. Humpback whales are known to go near paddle boards, whale-watching boats, kayaks and divers, too. However, even if these whales come close to humans, it is illegal to approach the whales whenever in Hawaiian waters.

If you’re the type who loves adventures and looking for something exciting, and travelling to Hawaii during the winter season, go paddle boarding. Who knows, you just might find yourself gaping at an orca breaching right in front of you. When this happens, be prepared to take a photo or a video because this awesome incident might not happen again until the next winter season.

Now, all you have to do is learn how to paddle board, book a flight to Hawaii during the winter break and practice taking fabulous photos to take of the orcas that might possibly breach you.
