A woman goes home happy thinking she bought an iPhone for a very cheap price, but finds 11 sliced potatoes inside the box instead.
People just can’t get enough of bargains and the Black Friday Sale is the biggest event everyone who wishes to get big discounts wait for every year. Be sure though to buy from legit stores and shops, otherwise, you’ll be facing the risk of being scammed and losing cash on useless stuff.
A woman from Wisconsin thought she hit the jackpot after buying an iPhone 6 at a bargain price of $100. But when she got home and checked her item, she was shocked to see 11 rotten potatoes instead of a slick, new phone.
Looking into the items placed on sale, the woman thought she struck a bargain when the driver agreed to sell an iPhone to her for just $100. Thinking she should not be fooled by the very low price, the woman asked to see the phone to check for any defect. She even requested the driver to call the phone, and when it rang, she handed her hundred bucks and later set off with the unit her receipt.
But when she got home, she was very horrified to find out that she was swindled and the box she brought home was actually filled with 11 pieces of chopped potato. She recounted the scam saying:
“So I ask the guy about the iPhone 6 and he’s like, ‘Ah yeah, today, I will give it to you for $100.’
He hands me an iPhone 6, I’m playing with it, turning it around, checking it.
I ask him to call the phone and he showed me the number and I’m like, ‘Cool, it’s legit. It’s ringing. It’s working. I want it.’I sit at my kitchen table about to play with the phone… The box is heavy, and I get home, and this n****r sold me a box of potatoes!”
But to add to the apparent insult, the conman packed an Android charger in the box with the potatoes. The woman yells in disappointed saying:
“What the heck am I supposed to do with this?
I am so hurt right now imma have to go to jail, imma go outside and imma find these old n*****s. What am I supposed to do with – oh you almost made me cuss.”
The victim is never sure whether she can find the cunning man again who sold her potatoes instead of an iPhone and get her money back. Experts then advise everyone who shops during the Black Friday sale or any mall sale to research the products they wish to buy and not fall for the tempting low prices. This goes the same when you buy online. Check for reviews as most items ordered from online shops are not replaceable and are non-refundable. Also, make a legit check to see if the seller is eligible or not.
Watch the video uploaded by the iPhone scam victim and see how furious she was that she was conned.
