9-Year-Old Ryan Kaji is 2020’s Highest-Paid YouTuber with $29.5 Million

For the third year in a row, Forbes named the young influencer as the highest-earning YouTube star.

Ryan Kaji, 9, has been named by Forbes as YouTube’s top earner for 2020.
The young influencer has topped the list for the past 3 years.
Jimmy Donaldson (Mr Beast), a newcomer in the Forbes list, made it to #2.

Forbes has just named Ryan Kaji as the highest-earning YouTuber of the year. In their list The Highest Paid YouTube Stars of 2020, the 9-year-old boy from Texas managed to make it to number one for the third year in a row after earning $29.5 million from his Ryan’s World YouTube channel.

Ryan initially gained fame on the video-sharing site for posting toy reviews. His channel has since attracted numerous sponsors, leading to his own toy and merchandising deal. Now he even has a TV series on Nickelodeon.

As the Forbes article further tells us:

“The top earner was nine-year-old Ryan Kaji, who clambered atop first place for the third year in a row. He’s famous for so-called unboxing videos, in which he takes toys out of their packages and reviews them. The little guy now has a line of branded merchandise—toys, backpacks, toothpaste, more—at Target, Amazon and Walmart that did $200 million in sales last year, and a Nickelodeon series called Ryan’s Mystery Playdate.”

So far, Ryan’s YouTube channel has 41.7 million subscribers and 12.2 billion views.

His family “run a total of nine different YouTube channels together, and have even changed their real surname Guan to Ryan’s online surname Kaji,” reported Unilad.

Other celebrities who made it to the Forbes list include Jimmy Donaldson a.k.a. Mr Beast who was described by the business magazine as “YouTube’s biggest new star” after being named #2 with $24 million. Dude Perfect was at #3 with $23 million, nerdy talk show Rhett & Link ranked #4 with $20 million, and Mark Fischbach (Markiplier) was listed #5 with $19.5 million.

Meanwhile, another young YouTuber was also part of the top 10. Six-year-old Russian girl Anastasia Radzinskaya, better known as Nastya on YouTube, made $18.5 million, according to Forbes.
