Creative Guy Creates The World’s Simplest Electric Train
Before you go shopping for gifts and spend ridiculous amount of money on a fancy train that will be running around your Christmas tree, you might consider this simple yet remarkable science experiment that will surely save you a few bucks and you might as well blows Santa’s mind when he stops by on the Christmas eve.
A viral video from YouTube channel, The AmazingScience, demonstrates how to build a ridiculously simple electric “train” using a AAA battery, a couple of magnets, and a tight coil of copper wire.
Watch the awesome video:
The video and the uploader didn’t explain why this trick works, but netizens believe it functions similar to a homopolar motor which is exactly the same technology that powers the incredibly lethal rail guns the US military is developing. But this use of the science behind the technology is of course a whole lot safer.
The Railgun, Real US Weapon Straight from Science Fiction.
Considered as a theoretical dream for decades, the railgun is unlike any other weapon used in warfare. And it’s quite real too. An electromagnetic railgun offers a velocity previously not achievable in any conventional weapon, speeds that are incredibly powerful on their own. In fact, since the projectile doesn’t have any explosives itself, it relies upon that kinetic energy to do damage.
Instead of relying on gun powder or explosive device to fire a projectile, the railgun uses an electromagnetic current to accelerate a non-explosive bullet at several times the speed of sound. The result: a terrifying weapon that can hit a target 100 miles or more away within minutes.
