So, just another strange coincidence?
Not only is The Simpsons the longest running animated series ever, it’s also been one of the most controversial – especially when it comes to predicting certain events with amazing accuracy.
With the recent inauguration of Kamala Harris as the vice president of the United States, some netizens are convinced that the popular cartoon has once again played Nostradamus. Case in point, the 56-year-old politician wore a purple outfit, a pearl necklace, and a pair of pearl earrings just like Lisa Simpson did in one of the past episodes.
See the striking resemblance?
Well it seems some netizens have taken notice, too, as evidenced by the numerous posts we’ve recently seen on social media.
According to reports, Vice President Harris’ purple outfit was designed by Christopher John Rogers and Sergio Hudson while her pearl neckalce was customized by Wilfredo Rosado.
In the episode originally aired in the year 2000, Lisa Simpson was – quite interestingly – preceded by Donald Trump as the president of the country. Trump, in real-life, would later run for the position and win it 17 years later.
At this point, people just couldn’t help but wonder: is it all just a strange coincidence or does the show employ time travelers as their writers? We’ll probably never find out.
In any case, if you’re curious and still haven’t seen past Simpsons predictions that eventually came true, you should check the video below.
