UPS Drive Gets Fired After He Was Caught ‘Spitting’ On A Package

He was reportedly fired by the company "out of abundance of caution."

A UPS driver has been kicked off the job due to a customer complaint.
The said customer complained that the driver “spat” on her package and it was captured on film.
The company fired him “out of an abundance of caution,” according to TMZ.

A UPS driver has recently been fired after a customer accused him of spitting on her package.

According to Ann Patton, a resident of Ocala, Florida, she caught the act on film via her security camera. Some who have seen the video, however, are not convinced about her claims.

A customer believes this UPS driver spat on her package, so she immediately got in touch with UPS to complain.

The surveillance video “shows the driver perusing the packages on Patton’s stoop for the item he was sent to retrieve.” He checked the label and then immediately returned it to Patton’s porch upon seeing it wasn’t the package he needed to pick up.

The website further shared:

“Right before he sets it down, he leans in and does something. He could have exhaled heavily or perhaps sneezed. Or, he could have vindictively spat on Patton’s package. It’s hard to tell from the video, but Patton was convinced of the latter when she reviewed the footage.”

The upset customer ended up contacting UPS to report the matter and the company eventually took action.

Many netizens, however, remain divided about whether the worker deserved the harsh punishment or not.

Meanwhile, a TMZ report tells us that “yes, (the company) did fire the guy — who was a temporary holiday driver — but only did so out of an abundance of caution, because in their eyes … it’s not clear if he spit or not.”
