Fasten your seat belts, everyone. We're in for a massive real-life robot fight!
Some of you may remember how we all went crazy when MegaBots, an American team of robot engineers, challenged Japanese robot maker Suidobashi Heavy Industries for a giant robot battle. This came as a huge news for all sci-fi fans who, of course, were excited about the thought of seeing a duel between two piloted metal fighters – just like in the movies, right?
The fight was delayed for some time to allow preparations for both parties. Well the long wait will be over pretty soon. According to a recent report, the epic battle will finally take place this August 2017.
Like we said before, its truly a terrific time to be alive as a sci-fi fan! If you grew up watching Transformers, Gundam, Voltron, and all those stuff, then this is definitely a dream come true for you.
In a post by NerdApproved, we are told that “at this point we don’t have all the details on the capabilities of each robot, but we do know that MegaBots’ Mk.III and Suidobashi’s Kuratas have both received major upgrades since the duel was first announced.”
The company has also been posting progress updates on their YouTube channel.
So far, they’ve previously announced a pilot for their “diesel-powered mech robot” on a Twitter post but for the most part, they’ve been a bit quiet about the details of their robot upgrades. Perhaps they’re trying to take advantage of the element of surprise?
The exact date and venue haven’t been officially announced yet but the good news here is that, regardless of where you live, you’ll be able to watch the bout because it will be live-streamed for free on YouTube, according to NewEquipment.
So fasten your seat belts, everyone. We’re in for a massive real-life robot fight!
