White New Yorker Calls Cops On Black Woman Sitting On A Public Park Bench

Amidst the ongoing issue on race in the United States, a white woman in New York has made headlines after she called the cops on a Black person for “comfortably sitting on a public park bench in her neighborhood”. A wealthy Manhattan socialite Svitlana Flom abused her “white privilege” by calling the police against Jana’e Brown.

Luckily, Brown was able to took a video of the incident and posted it on her Instagram account @_brownsugarbaby. In a video, a white woman, who turned out to be Flom, was on the phone and talking to a police officer. You can also hear Flom saying, “she’s pulling the Black card!”

“This woman, Svitlana Flom, artdefete felt the need to not only approach me but call the cops multiple times on me! She was too ‘alarmed’ that I was sitting ‘comfortably in ‘her neighborhood!” Brown said in her Instagram post.

Brown also claimed that Flom called the police for three consecutive times. The first call, she stated, was Flom complaining that Brown was smoking weed in public. She did not mention the second call, but on the third call Flom claimed that Brown was threatening her.

“The 3rd call was because I was ‘threatening her & her children’! While giving my description, she exaggerated her story and made it seem like I was the aggressor,” Brown added, showing on her video how far she was sitting from Flom’s children.

In a Daily News interview, Brown, who is a healthcare worker, said that she lives in the neighborhood and doesn’t even know who the woman was.

“She’s just a random person, telling me I can’t sit here, telling me I can’t be here,” she added.

Brown’s video went viral and netizens on Twitter started to call out Flom’s inappropriate behavior.

Flom, on the other hand, posted a photo on her Instagram to prove that she is not racist.

Many netizens, however, remained unconvinced.

Flom, who owns a French restaurant, is currently pregnant. In her interview with Page Six, she defended that Brown allegedly twisted the story and made her look like a racist. She also claimed that the “face-off” began when she told Brown and her friend that they are not supposed to be smoking weed.

Flom also claimed that Brown jumped off her seat and ran in her face.

“She didn’t care I was pregnant, or that I had two little kids,” she said.

Flom also explained that Brown recorded for 45 minutes, but the latter only posted “tidbits” of the video.

“She put her narrative on it to make me look like a racist. She twisted the entire thing like she’s some poor girl sitting alone on a bench and I’m white trash, harassing her for no reason,” she added.

As a result, she demanded that Brown “post the whole” unedited video, especially now that she gets threats from a lot of people.

Brown filed a human rights cases against Flom

She has also requested the city Human Rights Commission to probe the incident.
