Despite the growing popularity of small homes, there are still some who are skeptical about the thought of living in a space between 100 and 400 square feet. However, with more and more people considering the idea of giving up their spacious abodes in favor of tiny homes, one can’t help but ask “Why consider living in a tiny house?”

The popularity of the show “Tiny House Nation” on cable channel FYI is one proof that many are fascinated with the idea of living in small homes. While the concept of living in a place with limited space is not for everybody, tiny houses do come with a set of advantages that appeals to certain individuals.

Take your home when you travel.

While some tiny homes are built traditionally, which means they are fixed on the ground, most tiny homes owners are mobile so homeowners can easily take them where they want to go. This means you can go on a vacation or transfer to another place without the hassles of packing!

They won’t leave a huge hole on your pocket.

As people who have carpentry skills can easily make their own tiny homes and only spend on materials, there is no denying that going for a tiny home can mean saving a great amount of money. On the other hand, even if a person is clueless on how to build one despite the many tiny house blueprints available online, a tiny house can can only cost between $19,000 to $50,000 all in, depending on its size, finish, and features.

They are energy-efficient.

With a small space and limited appliances, it goes without saying that tiny home owners only consume a minimal supply of electricity, whether they are connected to the grid or use renewable energy sources such as solar panels.

Owners can easily de-clutter.

Perhaps, one of the downsides of owning a tiny home is having to let go of the things that its owners don’t really need because of limited storage. However, when one really comes to think of it, a tiny house’s limited space forces its owners to de-clutter and assess which belongings really matter in life!

They are easier to clean.

Obviously, tiny houses are easier to clean. This means owners can spend more time doing other things inside the home other than mopping or sweeping the floor, brushing the kitchen and bathroom tiles, and many other chores!
