Wife Dumped By Husband Of 14 Years After Paralyzing Stroke, Found Love With Rehab Trainer

Love can be painful when you are with the wrong person. Our quest on finding the person destined for us can sometimes take a long time that along the waiting period, we end up in the company of several “mistakes.” But once we cross paths with our soulmates, life will certainly be sweeter and love won’t have to be a battlefield.

This was how fate tricked Riona Kelly into love. The 37-year-old woman had been married for 14 years to her husband until she was rushed to the hospital after she suffered from an extremely rare spinal stroke.

Riona Kelly went through the worst time in her life when she got paralyzed two years ago.

Riona was then left paralyzed from her waist down to her lower body parts. The more unfortunate news was when the doctors said she might never be able to use her legs again.

The incident left Riona in a painful situation but nothing can be more unfair than her husband asking for a divorce right after her stroke and while she’s still lying on her hospital bed. Riona then shared her thoughts during those hardships saying:

“If someone had given me the choice, I would have ended my life…I didn’t want to live anymore.”

Despite the challenges, Riona did not give up and came up with a recovery plan.

Still blessed though, Riona was left with her four children who became her inspiration to stay stronger. She also found hope when she begun to see some progress to her situation after four months of staying in the hospital saying:

“At the time, I felt like giving up, but I knew I had to be strong for my children and so when I finally took my first steps it felt amazing.”

With the help of some specialized equipment, Riona could then take some steps and she could finally go home to her kids. A better event though is yet to happen as nobody expected that her paralysis would lead her to the love of her life.

After coming home, Riona posted on social media asking for help in looking for a personal trainer who could help her rehabilitate.

That was the time when Keith Mason stepped in to her life.

For months of therapy with Keith, Riona had always been thankful to him, even posting her gratitude on Instagram. Her condition progressed and when she already decided to stop training, Keith surprisingly reached out to her and they later became a couple.

Apart from helping her regain her strength, Keith was able to let Riona enjoy new love.

Keith also has a 5-year-old daughter whom he would take along to bond with Riona’s family. As reported by Inspiremore, the woman now uses a wheelchair to travel long distances. She is already able to wander, though, with crutches and could walk completely unaided when at home. Furthermore, Riona regained her strength and has even managed to complete 2 marathons using her wheelchair since her stroke.

Riona tells the world of how thankful she is to find her soulmate through Keith.

Riona also talks about how Keith continuously give her support and happiness which are something she didn’t get from her ex husband.

Indeed, Riona has a lot to be thankful for despite the heartbreaking situation she got into. She now enjoys living a happy life with her new lover, her kids and regained strength. Riona believes she got the best out of her worst days saying:

“Keith says I inspire him, but he encourages me every day… Looking back, going through what I did was the best thing to ever happen to me.”

The new couple now spend their happy days with their kids and loved ones.
