Woman Crashes Car Into Wall After Seeing Spider Inside

Arachnophobia is the unreasonable fear of spiders. And for one New York woman, her huge dislike for the arachnid lead to an unfortunate fate for her vehicle.

You see, the woman was just driving like she always does, but then she spotted a spider inside her car. The terrified, presumably arachnophobic woman then reportedly lost control of her vehicle, crashing it into a stone wall running along the road.

The authorities from Cairo, New York recently shared a picture of a wrecked car on Facebook.

The post read:

“Thank you again for the help Cairo Fire, Cairo Ambulance, Greene County Medics, and Greene County Sheriffs.

After investigating today’s crash on Silver Spur Road, we feel it necessary to bring up a contributing factor that is not covered too often. It is believed that the operator of the vehicle noticed a SPIDER in the driver’s area with her as she was driving.

The operator panicked and crashed suffering a leg injury from the crash.”

Authorities urged drivers to stay calm in times of shock such as this.

The post added:

“We know that it is easier for some drivers than others but PLEASE, try to teach new drivers and yourselves to overcome the fear and pull over to a safe place. Lives depend on it.”

Social media users sympathized with the woman, and many even told about the same incident that they faced.

“I almost did the same thing luckily I was where I could pull over. It was in my blouse. I never tore a blouse off faster, my husband was with me, and he’s yelling ‘what are you doing??’ I’m screaming ‘spider.’ Anyway, it happens and until it happens to you can’t say you wouldn’t do that. I am hoping the lady recovers.”

“I have panicked with a spider that came down in front of me; Thankfully I didn’t crash. My daughter’s car, mice, found their way in. Now my big fear is a mouse running over me while driving – hoping it never happens! Hope she’ll be ok.”

“Glad she is ok. That could be me, I’ve had to pull over suddenly and do a search. The fear is real.”
