She won't be alone on Valentine's Day. How about you?
There’s nothing better than snuggling with your comforter, blanket, or duvet during the cold and frigid nights, or after a long day’s work. With the temperatures dropping during this frosty time of the year, you might want to spend most days in bed, sleeping or like a burrito in your most loved comforter.
One woman has taken this to the extreme – she plans to marry her duvet.
Sellick said:
“My duvet is the longest, strongest, most intimate and reliable relationship that I have ever had. That’s because it has always been there for me and gives me great hugs.”
“I love my duvet so much I would like to invite people to witness my union with the most constant, comforting companion in my life.”
“There will be music and a ceremony, laughs, and entertainment.”
The upcoming wedding, which has been described as lavish, will be held at Rougemont Gardens in Exeter, Devon, England on February 10. The ceremony will be followed by a free wedding party at The Glorious Art House in Fore Street.
The guests are asked to wear dressing gowns, onesies, pajamas, and slippers. Plus, they can bring cuddly teddies and hot water bottles since it’ll be cold. The bride’s outfit will include a nightgown and fluffy slippers. She’ll wear a dressing gown, too.
For the duvet, the outfit will be a surprise, according to Sellick. Full vows will also be read in front of a fellow artist with no religious affinity.
Sellick has hired Anna FitzGerald as the wedding planner. FitzGerald said that the ceremony celebrates feeling loved and warm, and not feeling alone on Valentine’s Day.
She added:
“This is the most out there art happening to date. I’m really pleased to be involved. Valentine’s day can be depressing for lots of people so hopefully, this will lift peoples’ spirits.”
“It would be wonderful if folks could shake off their English reserve and rock up in their sleepwear for a bit of light-hearted frivolity.”
