Woman’s Severe Headaches Turn Out To Be A Spider Living Inside Her Ear

A woman named Lekshmi L had been suffering severe headaches for a very long time. She tried all sorts of medicines, but all failed to relieve her from the pain. She was eventually rushed to the hospital, as she could no longer bear it. Surprisingly, the doctor found out that there was a spider living in her ear.

Lekshmi, who hails from India, was taken to a local hospital in Hebbal after complaining about her severe headaches. According to her, the problem began after she slept on her veranda. Upon inspection, her doctor saw an eight-legged spider heavily burrowed insider one of her ear holes.

Even the doctor was surprised upon knowing the root-cause of her headache.

You might be wondering how the little creep got in there. Of course, we all do. After all, it’s a rare phenomenon.

According to reports, it was Dr. Santosh Shivaswamy who acted as Lekshmi’s ENT consultant. He explained that it was only normal for people to seek medical attention for odd objects in their ears. However, Lekshmi’s case was quite different. It was the first for everyone involved.

Lekshmi was quoted saying,

I was terrified as I could feel movement of a creature in my ear. The acute ear ache followed by sharp pains suffocated me. I couldn’t think of anything and was petrified when the doctor confirmed presence of a spider in my ear.”

Fortunately, nothing serious happened to Lekshmi.

At first, she tried to dig her finger into her ear canal thinking that it would somehow cure her. She even asked her daughter to examine her ear hole under a torchlight, but nothing was there. When the pain became so unbearable, her husband decided to bring her to the Columbia Asia Hospital in Hebbal, Bengaluru.

The spider slowly moved out after the doctor flashed a light over the ear.

After the successful removal, Dr. Santosh Shivaswamy said this:

It’s rare to see a live spider moving inside someone’s ear canal.”
