Champagne is admittedly expensive. Ever since it was created in France back in the 1600s, Champagne has garnered a reputation for luxury and excess.
And if you want to relive your fantasies of becoming French royalty, the way to go, of course, would be the most expensive Champagne bottles on earth!
It’s the only Champagne from the label and it’s made with a precise blend of Chardonnay grapes harvested from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger in the Côte des Blancs region of Champagne, France. Yes, it even sounds expensive!
As for the flavor, it’s described as mixed “flavors of honeyed orange flower, candied citrus fruits, and madeleine buns fresh from the oven.”
The Krug 1988, which is made by the only Champagne house that ferments their wine in small oak casks, is aged for ten years to achieve it’s complex palate. Its fresh taste has “spiced notes of dried figs and ripe quince.”
This rare vintage Champagne has “rich nutty and honey notes of great Chardonnay wines” coupled with “crispness, freshness, and vivacity.”
Producing less than 120,000 cases a year, Pol Roger is one of the few remaining family-owned Champagne houses in the world. This yeasty 1988 blend was inspired by Winston Churchill himself who favored Pol Roger champagne.
With only 3,200 limited-edition bottles, the Veuve Clicquot Yellowboam Ostrich Limited bottle (not pictured) has exotic Ostrich-leather seals and 22.4-carat gold, topped with a collectible 24-carat gold-plated muzzle cap engraved with Madam Clicquot’s signature.
This is the flagship cuvee of the label. Its taste? “Lively and full-bodied with subtle brioche accents” tending to a deliciously creamy texture and a long, silky finish.” The luxury champagne brand was acquired by rapper Jay-Z back in 2014.
Another one from Champagne Krug, this limited-edition single-vinyard Champagne took 15 years to develop, vinify, and age. It’s a Blanc de Noirs made entirely of Pinot Noir.

This bottle was designed by Hollywood director David Lynch specifically for Dom Perignon. This rose “reveals a fullness of texture coupled with a remarkably balanced structure that is both sophisticated and clear-cut” to the taste.”
There are only 35 bottles of this gold-plated Dom Perignon Mathusalem. Its scent has “aromas of malt complemented by smoky, peaty accents,” with a “strong, tense, radiant, and sharp with a firm finish” to the palate.
