And I'm really jealous of it...
Since the age of three, Amelia Forman has been interacting with pets as well as exotic animals. Her mother, American photographer Robin Schwartz, was able to capture the breathtaking moments over a course of 12 years.
Amelia’s first photo was taken in 2002 with a chimp named “Ricky”. Schwartz has previously worked with some “chimp people” for her photography work involving chimpanzees which gave her an opportunity to have access on other wild animals. Thus, the “Amelia and the Animals” project was born.
Schwartz revealed that the death of her mother and mother-in-law in 2002 pushed her to work on the project. The portraits are set to be published by the non-profit organisation Aperture Foundation next month.
Describing Amelia as a natural with animals, Schwartz said she avoided stressing Amelia or the animals during the photo shoots.
“I photograph them until either Amelia or the animal wants to stop. We must be respectful and not stress anyone as that will show in the photos, so it’s very pressured work,” Schwartz told The Telegraph.
