Young Lad Sings A Poignant Rendition of “You Raise Me Up” at His Older Brother’s Funeral
“Not only had my brother disappeared, but–and bear with me here–a part of my very being had gone with him. Stories about us could, from them on, be told from only one perspective. Memories could be told but not shared.” ― John Corey Whaley, Where Things Come Back
Brothers share a bond like no other. Amidst the laughter and bickering that they surely go through while growing up, a special connection is formed. Some grow up to be inseparable while others may live apart but maintain the communication. Nevertheless, the “bromance” remains alive, ’til death do they part.
This 24-year-old young man shows us an example of that sweet “bromance” when his older brother passed away. Although the circumstances are rather sad, he was able to figure out how to honor his brother’s memory – he sang a poignant rendition of “You Raise Me Up.” But what was truly heartwarming was how he soulfully dedicated the second verse to his late brother.
Watch the video and listen:
Through the song, we were able to feel how much the younger brother and the rest of the family deeply loved their deceased family member. We are together with them in praying for his soul’s eternal repose.
